30 July 2018
Limkokwing University welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs on 23 July 2018 to discuss potential collaborations.
The delegation was headed by Minister, Dato’ Saifuddin Nasution Bin Ismail, who was given a tour of the Presidential Library, and briefed on the achievements of the University and its Founder and President, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Limkokwing.
As discussions began, Tan Sri Limkokwing emphasized that it was time to shift from “Made in Malaysia” to “Designed in Malaysia” – the mark of an advanced nation.
“This is something that the University has advocated for many years now, and this is the perfect time for us to work on this together,” he said.
Eager to work together
Dato’ Saifuddin said he first heard about Tan Sri Limkokwing during his days in the Defence Ministry, and he heard Tun Mahathir mention Tan Sri’s important work with Nelson Mandela in South Africa.
“It is a great honour to meet Tan Sri today and I have to say, the campus tour has given me so much to digest because there’s just too many remarkable milestones the University has achieved,” he said.
“This is a new Malaysia, efficiency must go up and leakages must come down and for that to happen, we at the Ministry, look forward to the advice and opinions of Tan Sri to make this initiative a success,” said Dato’ Saifuddin.
