Making good in making videos

After setting up his own video production company MuseMedia in May 2005, Edvard Loh spent the first three months staring at the walls. He described the experience as a nightmare. But three months later he was to get his first pay cheque – an omen of the success to come.
Christine Chan has the story.
Edvard Loh is a new breed of entrepreneurs in the creative industry. His company MuseMedia specialises in video production, events management, web design and advertising.
He started fresh with zero connections and had to work very hard to look for tenders. Today, his business has grown with clients such as Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Malaysian Institute of Taxation, Legend Hotel, among others.
Securing big accounts was no mean feat, he explained. “When we tender for a new project, our chances are often slim as there are many companies vying for it.
Limkokwing was the platform that sharpened my skills and offered me countless of opportunities.

“Limkokwing was the platform that sharpened my skills and offered me countless of opportunities,” said Edvard as he thanked Limkokwing University for giving him the ‘freedom to unlock my creativity’.

“It has the right tools and latest technology to enhance the education environment. There are no boundaries for creativity at Limkokwing University,” said Edvard who won the Limkokwing Industry Awards for ‘Best Student in Electronic Design Multimedia’ and the ‘Malaysia Video Awards 1998’ during his course of study.
After graduating in 2001 Edvard worked at the University for 3 years as the Head of the Video Department.
He worked directly under Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Lim Kok Wing. “You can’t ask for a better mentor. He polished my skills and that has given me the confidence to be an entrepreneur in the industry. Tan Sri is a very knowledgeable man and he always shares his knowledge to guide you in every way he can.”
Edvard aspires to produce a historically inspired movie in the future. He has always loved the movies since young and was impressed by the visuals in ‘ET’ by Steven Spielberg.
