On 19th Nov, Limkokwing University welcomed Dr Jeff Zabudsky and Farzad Rayegani from the Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning to discuss building future collaborations.
Dr Zabudsky is Sheridan’s President and Chief Executive Officer and holds a Ph.D in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Alberta, a Masters of Distance Education from Athabasca University and a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Ryerson University.
Farzad Rayegani is the Associate Dean and Professor, School of Engineering, Faculty of Applied Science and Technology. He is credited with developing an applied research programme involving students, graduates and faculty members to address technological and educational needs.
Sheridan Institute was founded in 1967 and is based in Ontario, Canada. The institute emphasises a Creative Campus approach with four campuses within three Ontario cities namely Oakville, Brampton and Mississauga.
The institute has grown from a local college of 400 students to one of Ontario’s leading post-secondary institutions, educating approximately 18,000 full-time and 35,000 continuing and part-time studies students.
Sheridan received two gold awards for Leadership Excellence and Program Excellence in 2014 and had also been nominated for five Academy Awards.
Graduates from the institute have held various key positions at Walt Disney Studios, Don Bluth, Pixar Animation Studios and DreamWorks Animation.
Currently, the institute is seeking to obtain a university status within the next seven years. Programmes and courses available at the institute include animation and illustration, music theatre, film and design, business, applied computing, engineering technology, community studies and liberal studies.
