Animation powerhouse Inspidea shares secret of success with Limkokwing students
20 April 2018
A group of twenty FMC students from Limkokwing University visited one of Malaysia’s largest 2D animation studios, Inspidea on 18 April 2018.
The inside track
The industry visit was one of many routine visits arranged by Limkokwing and its industry partners, to allow students to gain insider knowledge about the industry directly from the professionals within the organisation.
Students were warmly welcomed by co-founder and Managing Director, Mr. Andrew Ooi.
The students were given a tour of the company, exposing them to the various departments.
Many students were visually awestruck with the ways the animators worked, most of them looking intense and entirely focused on the screen to get the job done precisely.
Head of the Finishing Department, Rohaizan Rosli, said that a solid storyline is the key to a great animation.
“To me, a funny and catchy story is what attracts the viewer and it is definitely the current trend in animation,” he said.
He also said Limkokwing’s nature of involving a lot industry-based practices is a good match with Inspidea.
“To have students from Limkokwing to join us would be great because they would know how an industry works and that is a benefit,” said Rohaizan.
Passion is the key
Rohaizan said that passion is the key asset that Inspidea constantly looks out for in graduates, as he believes passion alone is enough to succeed many things in life.
“Learning in a University is different than working in a real industry, and I had the privilege to witness that through this visit,” said Multimedia student, Fatima Muhamad Hajjar.
Her colleague, Nazrul Aizay Iskandar Zainal, who served as an intern with Inspidea, said he would be more than willing to come back and work as a full-time employee if given the opportunity.
“With the knowledge I have from Limkokwing, I know I can produce great results in animation,” said Nazrul.
