Alex added, although the university is an educational institution, it is unique in the sense that it is also an integrated business hub. As an employee, he deals with everything ranging from events to advertising, video editing, sound production and many more.
Suffice to say, he has a lot of fun experiencing and gaining knowledge.
The expansion of the university is something Alex is extremely proud of. Within two years, the university grew to an astonishing 12 campuses in eight countries, and according to Alex, although the university had foreseen some expansion, the scale of its growth in current years had been beyond expectations.
“To date, Limkokwing University has a global student population of 40,000, coming from countries from every continent of the globe – Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, South Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa – we’ve never been any bigger, and we won’t stop growing anytime soon,” said Alex. For Alex, the radical expansion of the university is his biggest personal achievement.
His greatest challenges lie in meeting the expectations of his boss, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato Dr. Lim Kok Wing, an inspiring visionary with high expectations of his employees, his university, his country and himself. His leadership and his ambitions can sometimes appear demanding to many, but Alex admits that despite the stress of those situations, each of them have trained him to be confident and decisive.
2009 marks the sixth year of his service for the university ever since he graduated, and he does not expect to switch lanes just yet. His hopes, as always, remain just as high.
“I’d want one day to win an award as part of an international agency or perhaps even to be the most successful advertising person,” muses Alex. Alex’s future plans are also well entwined into the education industry.
