Youth Enterprise Revolving Fund (YERF) has provided business training for six student run companies under Limkokwing Eswatini’s business-incubation programme.

Eswatini Youth Enterprise Revolving Fund (YERF) is a Parastatal established in 2009 by the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini to promote youth employment and alleviate poverty among young people between the ages of 18 to 35 years old.

The six companies were Addictive Vibes a business that focuses on music students; Lizinyane Lensele – a company that promotes travel and tour; Swazi Viral – an online newspaper; Deep Blue Technologies – an IT company; Lisiko Productions – media production company and lastly One Click – a business services company. 

Trainers from the YERF included the organization’s Chief Executive Officer Bhekizwe Maziya, Philile Dlamini and Mphiwa Gamedze, who graduated from Limkokwing Eswatini in 2015.  Representing Limkokwing Eswatini at the event were senior campus management, officers from the LEAP program office, students and staff members. 

YERF CEO Bhekizwe Maziya informed the student companies that his company has recently reviewed the lending limit to E150 000 for small businesses and encouraged the companies to use the knowledge they had just received when applying for this loan. Maziya also noted that a majority of CEO’s in student companies are male and he used this observation to encourage female students to start taking up the challenge of leadership.

When interviewed after the training, members of the student companies voiced their satisfaction at the knowledge they had received. They affirmed that what YERF had shared with them gave them a slight advantage over competitor companies and brought them closer to making their companies successful business entities. The training event was covered by local television and print media houses.
