Multimedia, Advertising and Broadcasting students hold graduation exhibition

3 July 2013, by Dhashene Letchumanan

Final semester students of Diploma in Multimedia, Advertising and Broadcasting programme featured their creative works such as short films, music videos, advertising campaigns and concepts, portfolio websites and more at Limkokwing’s Hall of Fame last month.

Prestige Night.

“This exhibition was a token of appreciation towards the student works from the beginning of their journey till the end. Many students came to me and said they wanted to have an event that shows their transformation from semester one till six. The students wanted to present what the faculty has taught them, moulded them and nurtured them. The group came with their proposal. We as their lecturers guided and supported them,” said MAB Programme Leader Reduzan Hakim.

Reduzan added, “The perfect word to describe my feeling was proud. I was so proud of my students’ effort and how the exhibition had turned out. They have proved their significant transformation from the day they stepped into the University. Even though there were some hiccups here and there but we are only human beings and there is always room for improvement. This reminds me that they really learned without repeating their mistakes.”

The lecturers from Faculty of Communication, Media and Broadcasting (FCMB) surprised their students with a singing performance. “It was definitely a delightful treat for us. The lecturers made our last day a memorable one,” said student Shiva Ruppeni.

Shiva, who also worked for Limkokwing’s Wings Radio as an announcer, added that, “The programmes offered here are very versatile, students don’t only learn one major but also many other useful subjects in addition. Coming to Limkokwing University, I had lots of exposure. I even had my opportunity to intern at Leo Burnett, one of the top advertising agencies only because of Limkokwing. Anyone who graduates from Limkokwing will not just know one thing, that’s why they are very successful. They are very prepared for the work force.”

“The best part of working in Wings Radio, I had my chance to host live shows and cover outside events. I got to interview celebrities like Pixie Lott and many other famous people. All this has helped me to be a better host,” concluded Shiva.

Singaporean student Azdiyatul Akmah said, “The reason I love being a Limkokwing student because here we have the freedom of speech and the freedom of expressing ourselves. There is no boundaries in creativity here. Limkokwing lecturers didn’t try to control us but instead they helped and guided us.”

The graduation exhibition called Trigonomedia ended with a grand finish during the Prestige Night when the students had their performances and theatre plays. The entire event was organized by Limkokwing’s Faculty of Communication, Media and Broadcasting.
