Limkokwing University students learn about blogging from Johnny Cullen
28 February 2015
Limkokwing University students recently attended a ‘blogging’ talk by prominent Copywriter and Creative Consultant Johnny Cullen, held at Limkokwing London on 27 January.
Johnny Cullen has written for many industry leading companies like BBC, Britvic, Cadbury World, Casio, HarperCollins, Lastminute.com, Millie’s Cookies, The National Youth Agency, NFU Mutual, Oracle, Orange, The Orbit Group, and Parkinson’s UK, and he greatly attributes his success to blogging.
Blogging is a new age information sharing and discussion platform which involves posting articles online, commonly with an opportunity for the audience to comment and give their views on the topic.
Cullen’s session was called ‘How to write a blog that can change your life’. It looked at five key areas vital for success as a blogger; the reason for blogging, who are the target audience; what information will be shared, how the information will be relayed to best connect with the target audience, and how and where to promote the blog.
Blogging would give students an opportunity to share their talents online at a global scale, which during that process, hones their skills and helps them master their talents and capabilities. This in turn could lead to income creation though sale of the students’ products and services.
Although the session was principally about blogging, it also helped to highlight some of Limkokwing University’s own key ideas, including on how to think creatively about business problems; why it’s important to take an international approach; and how to build strong and long-lasting online networks.
The students, whom Cullen described as “inspiring and talented” actively participated in the talk and at the end of the session, they were given blogging tasks which tested their newly acquired skills.
Cullen noted that it had been “very inspiring to meet so many young and talented Limkokwing University students’, and noted that he would ‘hopefully get the chance to do it again.”
