Limkokwing University held a Campus Sports Festival from 30 to 31 March 2017, organised by the University in conjunction with the One World Club, the Indian Cultural Community, the Business Innovation Club, and the Limkokwing International Student Ambassadors.
Students from Limkokwing as well as other campuses participated in various activities including chess, e-games, billiards, basketball, and futsal tournaments.
“I feel that sports is the best thing to unite people,” said President of the Indian Cultural Club, Sri Nam Ganeshan, who is studying Bachelor of Communication (Hons) in Digital Media.
“Here, we have people from various countries and cultures competing with each other,” he added. “It is a good opportunity to get exposed to multiculturalism.”
For Yemeni student Abdullah Nabil Abdullah Al-jaberi who is pursuing his degree in Civil Engineering, the University’s multicultural environment enabled his team to communicate and cooperate effectively.
“We played and trained together to win this competition,” he explained. “This helped us a lot because we were able to work together.”
Visiting Nigerian student Mohammed Abba Wakil from UCSI University joined the sports event and competed with other students in the University.
“I saw more international people participate here in one place,” he said. “It was an amazing and fun experience to play here.”
