On the 26th November 2013, Limkokwing celebrated its 5th annual media reception with a purpose to extend gratitude to all the media houses that are supportive to the University.
On the 26th November 2013, Limkokwing celebrated its 5th annual media reception with a purpose to extend gratitude to all the media houses that are supportive to the University.
Since the inception of the media reception, Limkokwing has offered the media industry a total of 20 scholarships, to study in both Botswana Campus and Cyberjaya Campus.
This year’s media reception aims to reinforce and nurture effective working, personal relationships with all media representatives of local news media. Moreover, as part of Limkokwing ’s Corporate Social Responsibilities initiative and investing in the industry it offered 5 scholarships with degree programmes worth P500 000 for the Department of Broadcasting Services (DBS) and 8 scholarships worth P800 000 for the Botswana Private media.
In the past year, the media reception highlight was on the official signing of the MoU between Limkokwing & the Ministry of Youth Sport & Culture. Whereas, the in the year 2011 media reception highlight was the MOU between Limkokwing University & the Department of Broadcasting Services where Limkokwing awarded 4 scholarships to DBS, as a way of cementing the mutual relationship.
During the 5th Annual media reception event, Dr Raphael Dingalo the Vice President of Academic Management highlighted all the Limkokwing Academic and non-academic achievements of the year 2013 which included the; ICT LINKZ competitions, MISA Awards and Te-AIDS competitions and he mentioned how the University prides itself with working with the industry collaborations that give student valuable industry exposure.
Amongst the media houses invited were; Mmegi, The voice, Daily News, Ebotswana, BTV, The Patriot, and the Weekend post. Some of which were represented by our alumnus.
A total 730 graduates from the class of 2013 received their Degrees and Associate Degrees in various fields at what was the fifth graduation since Limkokwing University opened its gates in gates in 2007. Today Limkokwing University continues to empower young Batswana with 21st century skill that enable them to move the nation towards vision 2016.
