Vice Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, His Excellency Siaosavath Savengsuksa, visited Limkokwing University of Creative Technology recently, accompanied by the Laos Ambassador to Malaysia, HE Khamphon Anlanval.

The vice minister and his entourage were taken on a campus tour accompanied by Limkokwing’s Senior Vice President of Special Events, Dato’ Fajura Juffa,  and Limkokwing’s Senior Vice President of Industry Empowerment, Dato’ Raja Aznil.

The vice minister was understandably most interested in Sound and Music Studio where his son is to enrol.  There, the entourage was treated to a rendition of ‘Heal the World’ which is composed, produced and sung by Limkokwing alumni and students.

“This University is impressive and a highly reputable international University, from the work it has done, it does live up to its repute as a global university,” acknowledged His Excellency Siaosavath Savengsuksa.

The Limkokwing Sound and Music Design Academy also works closely with the Malaysian government, aiding in promoting national initiatives, projects and campaigns.

Currently it is working with the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation to promote green technology living, and also working with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to promote sportsmanship among Malaysian youths by producing songs for these campaigns.

“Students not only learn how to Design Music, they learn what music does for the community. It is not only for commercial value but also for giving back to the society,” noted Dato’ Fajura Juffa.

At Limkokwing, students’ minds are opened to see the big picture to make a new sense of life. It is through incorporating community and industry projects that students connect what they learn in the classroom to the real world therefore broadening their mindsets and adding value and meaning to their lives.
