Limkokwing University of Creative technology hosted a visit of representatives from the University of Delaware in the United States of America on 15 October.
Dato’ Tiffanee Marie Lim, Vice President of Brand, Creativity and Talent Development and Professor Cedric D. Bell, Pro Vice Chancellor of Limkokwing University hosted the visit. The visitors toured the facilities of the University, which included the Presidential Library, Limkokwing’s Branding Gallery and the Limkokwing Fashion Club.
“As a lecturer teaching cultural diversity, I can totally feel how the whole idea of multi-culturism is manifesting at Limkokwing University, it is indeed an eye-opener,” commented Samantha Lopez, a professor of cultural diversity at University of Delaware.
The two parties then sat down to discuss various collaborative opportunities, including the development of future programmes such as summer camp and student exchange between the two institutions.
The delegates also paid a courtesy call upon the President/Founder of Limkokwing University, Tan Sri Limkokwing where William Marshall, University of Delaware’s Director of Precollege Programs applauded Tan Sri Lim’s efforts to bring creativity to a different paradigm by injecting it into the education system.
The University of Delaware is a research-intensive, technologically advanced institution with the student population of 7,000 undergraduates and more than 3,600 graduate students across the United States and around the globe.
Their thriving study-abroad programme and expanding international partnerships to enhance their students’ education as global citizens matches the Limkokwing’s vision of globalised education, hence close partnership between the two Universities is something worth looking forward to.
In the middle of their four-day packed schedule, the representatives chose Limkokwing University as the only tertiary institution they visited in Malaysia after meeting and hearing testimonials from alumni of Limkokwing University who are working closely with the University of Delaware at the moment.
