MOTAC Visit: Exploring strategies in thriving past COVID- 19 pandemic

The global spread of COVID-19 has been impacting all industries worldwide. Tourism/Hospitality is among the most affected sectors with airplanes on the ground, hotels closed and travel restrictions put in place. International tourist arrivals have decreased by 80% globally while in Malaysia, Tourism and Culture industries have lost about RM45bil in the first half of 2020.
Datin Sri Norfaliza Ismail, Head of Visit Malaysia, from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) visited Limkokwing University’s flagship campus in Cyberjaya on the 18 August 2020 to discuss possible collaboration opportunities especially in strategies for thriving past the COVID- 19 pandemic.
Awed by the University’s technology-driven facilities and resources, Datin Sri Norfaliza was taken on a campus tour by the University’s Senior Management staff to further give her insights to the holistic learning environment of the University as well as its history.
MOTAC acts as a catalyst for Malaysia’s sustainable socioeconomic growth -with a mission to enhance the synergy and cooperation among tourism and culture industry players towards making Malaysia the preferred tourist and cultural destinations.
