Limkokwing University Lesotho 2017 Graduation: ‘Changing tertiary education in Lesotho for the better’

Limkokwing University Lesotho celebrated its seventh graduating class at a special ceremony in the presence of Her Majesty, Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso, on 28 September 2017 at the Lehakoe Recreational Centre in Maseru.
Themed ‘The future is now in your hands’, the ceremony was also graced by the Deputy Prime Minister, Honorable Monyane Moleleki, representatives from various ministries and government agencies, members of the academic fraternity, Limkokwing industry advisors and partners, as well as members of the Senate, embassies and high commissions.
The ceremony was held in two sessions, with scrolls presented to a total 791 graduates from the following faculties: Faculty of Communication Media, Broadcasting (155), Faculty of Business Management, Globalization (290), Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (74), Faculty of Design, Innovation (71), Faculty of Creativity in Tourism and Hospitality (171), and the Faculty of Architecture and the Build Environment (30).
On behalf of the Right Honorable Prime Minister, Honorable Thomas Motsoahae Thabane, the Deputy Prime Minister, Honorable Monyane Moleleki congratulated the graduates on their exemplary work during the course of their studies at Limkokwing, as well as their time in the industry during their internship period.
“The feedback I received from industry professionals demonstrate that Limkokwing graduates are industry-ready upon completion of their studies and already many Limkokwing graduates are assuming leadership roles within their respective industries which in itself is an eloquent tribute to the quality of the Limkokwing learning experience,” he stated.

In his speech, the Minister of Education and Training, Honorable Mokhele Moletsasne, further endorsed the University for changing the academic landscape of Lesotho and also shifting the mindset of Basotho students into industry ready graduates.
“The government of Lesotho is passionately committed to the education of its youth through up skilling and educational diversification. In the case of Limkokwing University, I am delighted to confirm that they have changed the tertiary education of this country not only irreversibly but also immeasurably for the better in line with the 21st century thinking and problem solving,” he said.
In his message to the graduates, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Lim Kok Wing urged them to approach their future with confidence.
“Here today, we have in this conference hall, the best and brightest creative minds from a plethora of creative disciplines. You should approach your future with confidence and assurance because you are equipped for success on a global stage,” he urged.
