Limkokwing University is now working with Wisma Putra to lend support in strengthening ties between Malaysia and Japan.
Ambassador-Designate of Malaysia to Japan, Dato’ Kennedy Jawan, visited the Limkokwing University campus in Cyberjaya on 4 January 2019 and held talks with Founder President, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Limkokwing, on a possible collaboration to strengthen Malaysian ties with Japan.
In response, Tan Sri Limkokwing said, “We would like to introduce Malaysia to the people of Japan and offer the ‘International Goodwill Scholarship’ to 30 students from Japan to study in Limkokwing University of Creative Technology.”
Dato’ Kennedy welcomed Tan Sri’s proposals as a means to further enhance close bonds between Japan and Malaysia.
“We also would like to bring students from Malaysia to visit Japanese design schools to give them further exposure in the creative industry,” Tan Sri Limkokwing added.
Dato’ Kennedy, who began his career as an administrative and diplomatic officer in 1988, rose through the ranks to become the first Sarawakian to hold the top executive post in the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
He previously served the government of Malaysia in various countries including Myanmar, South Africa, Spain and the United States of America.
