A group of 46 Global Classroom students visited one of the world’s most famous stadiums, Manchester United’s Old Trafford.
Home to Manchester United football club, the Old Trafford stadium is both a theatre and a temple for its millions of fans worldwide. The football club was managed by Sir Alex Ferguson from 1986-2013, who brought the club unprecedented success, including 12 league titles, five FA Cup titles and two UEFA Champions’ League trophies. In 2011 they renamed one of the stands in his honour.
Students got a unique insight into the stadium with a private guided tour through the home changing room where students sat under their favourite player’s peg, visited the trophy room, marvelled through the memories of the team’s glory days, and the stadium itself.
The tour continued to the club museum, where students learnt about the legends and relived the triumphs and tragedies of Manchester United. The Global Classroom students concluded their visit by stepping out of the tunnel into the stadium itself, viewing the 76,212 seat ‘Theatre of Dreams’ in all its glory.
The Global Classroom is an initiative that allows Limkokwing University students to study in Limkokwing London for a month. This initiative aims at exposing students to creativity at an industry level and to bring their classroom experience to life in a global standard.
