Representatives of Diversified Resource Berhad (DRB)-Hicom recently visited Limkokwing University of Creative Technology with an aim of looking into various future collaborations.
Diversified Resource Berhad (DRB)-Hicom Group is a leading Malaysian conglomerate involved in the automotive manufacturing, assembly and distribution industry. It assembles cars for TATA Motors, Honda, Isuzu, Suzuki, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen in Malaysia. It also own the national car company; Proton.
It is one of the biggest contributors to the country’s industrialization and globalization process, thus hugely supporting Malaysia’s Economic Transformation Program.
The group was taken on a campus tour to give them a clear understanding of the University. The team was impressed with the many projects the University has undertaken for various industries both locally and internationally. They applauded the University for being a premier specialist in the area of creativity and branding, commending the University’s practical approach to education of involving students in industry projects.
The University actively encourages students to participate in industry related projects, as they help students turn their book knowledge into reality. This approach does not only benefit students, as it also provides Malaysian industries with an opportunity to tap into the creativity of bright young minds from over 160 countries world-wide.
“This is a University that understands the value of being industry relevant, it appreciates the importance of seamless transition from classroom to career. It’s a win-win collaboration for all stakeholders involved,” Limkokwing Senior Vice President of Special Events, Dato Fajura Juffa told the visiting team.
The visit saw DRB Hicom Group and Limkokwing University sign a Memorandum of Collaboration, which involves future collaborations in areas such as corporate branding, brand enculturation, globalization initiatives and activities, international marketing and promotion, design creativity and innovation assistance, up-skilling and up-scaling of management and staff and any other collaboration both parties will deem necessary.
