Limkokwing University and Ducati Malaysia Speed into the Future at the Next-Gen Tour Freedom Festival
16 August 2023
The Square, Publika, roared to life with the unveiling of Ducati Malaysia's latest marvels — the Scrambler Ducati’s Next-Gen Bikes. This iconic launch on 4 August 2023 wasn't just about the bikes; it was about celebrating collaborations, pushing boundaries, and embracing the future.
Ducati, synonymous with Italian elegance in design and transportation, introduced three new bike models to the Malaysian audience. These bikes are not just machines; they embody personal expression, customisable with nine colours, catering especially to the youth and the fashion-forward. As the COO of Ducati Malaysia, Dennis Michael, rightly puts it, owning one of these bikes means “making a statement.” Equipped with the latest technology, like a 4.3-inch TFT screen and adaptable riding modes, these bikes offer safety without compromising power.
NAZA Automotive Group, a prestige name in the Malaysian automotive sector, has taken the lead in distributing these statement pieces locally. However, the event’s highlight was the collaboration between Ducati and Limkokwing University.
Limkokwing University, as the ‘Global University of Malaysia’, has, over the years, built an illustrious reputation by pushing the envelope in the realm of creative education. With students representing over 165 countries, its campus is a melting pot of cultures, ideas, and inspirations. The university’s innovative curriculum, global outreach, and industry partnerships, like the one with Ducati, epitomise its forward-thinking approach and commitment to nurturing the next generation of global leaders.
The synergy between Limkokwing and Ducati is emblematic of a future where education meets real-world application. While showcasing Ducati’s engineering marvels, this collaboration also underscores Limkokwing’s dedication to providing its students unparalleled opportunities to experience and contribute to world-class events.
The evening saw talent in abundance, with Limkokwing students taking centre stage. A 10-minute fashion show, in collaboration with Limkokwing Fashion Club, Carrera, and Tissot, showcased the seamless blend of fashion with transportation. As the 8-piece brass band and turntablist kept the beats rolling, a graffiti artist captivated audiences by creating art on a live model dressed in white. The emcee, representing the university, aptly described the event as a gateway to speeding into the future.
During a post-event interview, Dennis Michael shared words of wisdom and encouragement for the students of Limkokwing. He recognised their passion and dedication to art and music, so he commended their spirit and drive to make a mark. Michael shared how the fashion show left an indelible mark on the audience, emphasising how the Ducati bikes are not just about riding but about making a “fashion statement.”
As the engines revved and the night drew close, the Next-Gen Tour Freedom Festival stood as a testament to innovation, collaboration, and the future. With dynamic partnerships like Limkokwing University and Ducati, the road ahead seems charged with promise and excitement.
