The second week of the ‘Be A Star’ orientation programme provided the new international students at Limkokwing University with an opportunity to develop their networking skills during a tour around Putrajaya and Cyberjaya on 12th Aug.
Emphasising the importance of networking, Limkokwing’s multicultural environment encourages international students to forge new friendships that may strengthen into future business partnerships.
As the world becomes more globalised, bridging connections is a crucial key to success.
This is why Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) student Akash Shrestha, a Nepali- Iranian said he chose Limkokwing Malaysia due to its multicultural exposure.
For him, Malaysia is abundant with opportunities to meet new people from all over the world and was closer to his home country in Nepal.
“It is interesting because you get to learn more about other people’s cultures without having to visit their home countries.”
“I was also amazed by how the places were wonderfully made with modern and beautiful roads,” he added. “Most places that I have seen are either modern or green but here in Malaysia, it is both.”
Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Professional Communication student Benjamin Wahl from Germany said that Malaysia is a great place for foreign students because of the opportunity to meet people from different cultures, races and countries.
“When I first came to Limkokwing, I found that the people here are really friendly and helpful” he said. “I feel good being in a multi-racial country like Malaysia because it gives me the opportunity to meet people from all cultures and make contacts.”
The tour was organised by the Limkokwing Orientation team to help International students learn more about Malaysia while immersing themselves into the Limkokwing multicultural aspect of the country.
During the tour, over 100 students travelled around Cyberjaya as well as Putrajaya.
Furthermore, the tour enabled the new students to help familiarise the area’s available public services and amenities. This would help them to identify places of interest for electricity bills payments, buying groceries, accommodation services and other daily necessities during their stay in Malaysia.
