13 May 2017
The Honourable Lindiwe Nonceba Sisulu stopped by for a courtesy visit to Limkokwing University on Friday 14 April 2017.
Hon. Lindiwe Nonceba Sisulu is a member of the South African parliament since 1994 and has held various portfolios. She is currently the Minister of Human Settlements, a position that she has held since 2014.
Limkokwing University, through its President and Founder Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Lim Kok Wing, has had close ties with South Africa. In 1994, Tan Sri Lim helped craft a successful voter registration exercise in South Africa’s first free and all-inclusive election which enabled Nelson Mandela’s African National Congress (ANC) to win overwhelmingly.
Tan Sri Lim created ANC’s election slogan, A Better Life for All, and gave it a powerful visual message. It included the ANC’s election poster showing Mandela surrounded by smiling children of various backgrounds that proved vital in helping ANC win the election. Tan Sri Lim personally followed Mandela and other ANC leaders around the country putting up billboards, buntings and organising public rallies.
Limkokwing University is committed to globalise creative education in Africa, and this can be seen through its commitment to the development and empowerment of African students through the establishment of campuses in several African countries. Limkokwing University currently has campuses in Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana and Sierra Leone.
