Limkokwing University welcomed a delegation from Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) at the Cyberjaya campus on 2 May 2018 to share their Cyberjaya Smart City plan and discuss involvement of students in future projects.
The delegation was headed by MRCB Senior Vice-President, Pn Shireen Iqbal Mohamed Iqbal, who met with Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr Limkokwing and his senior management team.
The Smart City plan outlined a proposed convention centre, hotels, retail space, service apartments, shopping malls and office towers, all of them in the vicinity of the Limkokwing University campus.
“Working with a University is good because of its student population; therefore, it will be great to have Limkokwing Architecture students to share their expertise in our projects,” said Pn Shireen.
“We are all in and areas that our students could play a big part would be branding, designing, marketing, retail and accommodation,” said Limkokwing VP of Brand Creativity and Talent Development, Dato’ Tiffanee Marie Lim.
Meanwhile, Tan Sri Limkokwing said Limkokwing students are also relatively strong in the areas of landscape, cybersecurity and fashion: “The young community can add a lot of soul to the development, especially creative and innovative students from our University.”
As the discussion ended, Pn Shireen said she hoped Limkokwing would play an important part in the development and looked forward to starting the collaboration as soon as possible.
