On Monday, 13 March 2017, Limkokwing Botswana welcomed its newly inaugurated Student Representative Council (SRC) into office.
The new SRC office bearers were officially inaugurated into their new position by Limkokwing University Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Cedric Bell.
The inauguration ceremony was a sign of dedication and hard work of the students as leaders in the making as they are expected to uphold and embrace aspects of good leadership by all the stakeholders especially the ones who voted them into those positions. The inauguration ceremony also highlights the cordial working relationship between the University management and the student representative’s body. The event was graced by representatives from other organisations including representatives from Era College, Gaborone Universal College of Law and the Limkokwing management.
Limkokwing Head of Academics Management Motlhalefi Modiagane reminded the new council that being in the SRC office is an immense responsibility. “SRC is the bridge which seeks to promote harmonious relations between the SRC and the University Management”, he said.
He emphasized that “As leaders, you are now the voice of the voiceless and it means abiding by the laws of the University as well as the government to bring a difference in the institution and country.” He also highlighted the importance of studying hard and doing well in their school work in order to be proper role models for other students.
