The Director of Global Education Solutions (GES) Sameer Parayil and GES sponsored student from Philippines Erika Bautista received a warm welcome during their visit to Limkokwing University Cyberjaya campus mid last month.
Both were welcomed by Limkokwing University Vice President Brand Creativity and Talent Development Dato’ Tiffanee Marie Lim and the senior management team of the University to discuss international cooperation opportunities.
GES and Limkokwing University intend to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the near future to facilitate cross-border cooperation and explore international opportunities.
The MoU will foster long-term educational development in Malaysia, focusing on global engagement and education solutions.
According to Parayil, this collaboration would be the first to be held in Malaysia and he chose Limkokwing University as it is the only University in Asia with a strength of 160 countries.
“I heard many successful stories about Limkokwing University and this is the first time I set foot here. I have never experienced this kind of hospitality at any other university. The campus is vibrant and energetic with an international atmosphere,” he said while adding that this is one of the reasons why he chose to send GES-sponsored international students to Limkokwing University.
GES had previously collaborated with few international schools and universities in the United Kingdom, India, and United Arab Emirates (UAE) especially in Dubai.
GES is moving a step forward by selecting Malaysia as the fourth country to deliver and manage customised solutions in providing students with global experience and exposure.
“We explore and understand students’ strengths and interests, negotiate within their circles of influence, make informed decisions for them to achieve their education, career and life goals.”
“This is an important step in establishing cooperation between our school partners and international universities in Malaysia to provide greater synergy towards strengthening global education, and Limkokwing is the best place for our international students.”
Within a year, GES sends about 200 international students from 58 countries to preferred universities.
“Hopefully we can manage to sign MoU and for the start, we intend to send 10 to 20 students in advance to Limkokwing University and will increase the number in the future,” he said.
He added that Erika from the Philippines will be the first student to receive GES sponsorship to study at Limkokwing University.
GES is a strategic consulting, advisory and solutions partner that aims to build an enduring education industry by conceptualising designing and delivering future-focused global education solutions and initiatives.
