The Housing and Local Government Ministry’s (KPKT) Chief Secretary (KSU) Dato' Sri Haji Muhammad Mentek paid an official visit to Limkokwing Cyberjaya early this year to discuss creative direction for the upcoming National Community Policy launch.
He was accompanied special officer, Muhammad Sallehuddin Mohd. Dilif and 11 other officers from KPKT headquarters in Putrajaya.
The delegation was welcomed by the university senior management team and met with Founder and President of Limkokwing, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Limkokwing.
As Malaysia’s Most Innovative University, KPKT gave credence to Limkokwing to provide creative direction in National Community Policy corporate video which expected to be promoted in Perak by end of February 2020 month.
According to Dato’ Sri Haji Muhammad, the National Community Policy was drafted to develop community initiatives towards creating quality environment, strengthening community activities for better property management and maintenance as well as promoting community participation in their local development planning.
This policy focuses on safeguarding the welfare of the community which is aligned with the National Housing Policy (2018-2025) and the Ministry is establishing a dedicated division which will function as the main coordinator to ensure effective implementation of the Policy.
“Limkokwing University is known for its corporate videos and songs, and I would like to ask Tan Sri Limkokwing for his kindness in composing a song for the National Community Policy.”
“In addition, I have another idea to set up a National Community Day or ‘Hari Kebersihan Negara’ so that Malaysians have the opportunity to work together to clean their housing area,” he said at the meeting.
In the effort to express the goal of the National Community Policy and gain support from all parties, KPKT has planned various programmes and activities to be carried out in partnerships nationwide.
Haji Muhammad added that KPKT will keep working with Limkokwing University as partners and also help to promote Limkokwing University at the Abu Dhabi World Urban Forum 2020 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“The forum is expected to be attended by over 40,000 visitors from 190 countries,” he said.
