Metro Optical Group (MOG) is one Malaysia’s biggest eyewear chain stores, and it has been continuously refining and expanding its expertise in exclusive eyewear.
Established in 1994, it has since partnered with famous brands like Nike, Coach, Gucci, Dior, Calvin Klein and many more.
It took two passionate individuals to execute the idea of creating this company, and they are brothers Dato’ Frankie Ng and Dato’ Henry Ng.
Apart from commercial-based partnerships, MOG is an active CSR participant in many lower and higher secondary schools.
On 28 September 2017, MOG was part of a CSR program by Magnum at Sekolah Kebangsaan Gurney, Kuala Lumpur.
“I Can See Clearly Now Project” was a nationwide CSR program to help provide eye-checks for school children and spectacles for the needy.
“Help The World To See Better”
MOG’s vision and mission of “Help The World To See Better” was getting good responses from many people, which saw the need for an increase in the number of retail branches.
Equipped with technical know-how, aesthetic sense, as well as merchandising and advertising expertise, MOG now owns more than 50 outlets, some 500 employees, and a customer base of over 3 million.
MOG owns 2 other retail brands which are Optical Arts and Sunglass Art.
Industry Partner
MOG, together with Limkokwing University, jointly organized a film industry talk on 23 April 2018 featuring Hassan Abd. Muthalib, a self-taught artist, designer and filmmaker who has been in the industry for over 50 years.
During the talk, MOG announced its upcoming Short Film Competition, aimed at providing a platform for students to showcase creativity through videos, in support of eye care awareness.
The submission deadline for the competition is 20 June 2018, with cash prizes worth up to RM 17,000 to be won.
