Limkokwing Founder’s Day commemorates the memory of the late Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Limkokwing, the Founder of the University that had its origin way back in 1991.

To give the day’s “celebration of life” depth and meaning, about 200 children were specially invited to grace the occasion. They were from Pertubuhan Pusat Jagaan Limpahan Kasih, Rumah Anak Yatim dan Asnaf, Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Bimbingan At-Taqwa, Ruman Anak Yatim Mary and Maahad Tahfiz Darul Aida and accompanied by their respective principles Puan Siti Hajar Ismail, Norhayati Bt Wan Abib, Miss Mala and Ustaz Ariffin.

Most significantly, Founder’s Day was part of the late Founder’s passion for less-fortunate kids so they could strive to attain a brighter and better future through world-class education and skills training.

Also gracing the memorable occasion were distinguished VIPs, Puan Nor Suhaila Binti Saat, Pengarah Jabatan Khidmat Pengurusan, Majlis Perbandaran Sepang and Yang Berusaha ASP Mohamad Zaidi, Ketua Polis Balai Cyberjaya.

They were all welcomed by Limkokwing Vice President Dato Dania Wahab, Chairman of the Board of Governing Council Dato’ Raja Aznil Bin Raja Hisham and Vice-chancellor Dato’ Prof Dr Hj Mohd Razali Agus to a traditional Limkokwing hospitality from students, faculty members and staff.

Puan Nor Suhaila said, “Honestly, this is my first visit to Limkokwing University although I have been with Majlis Daerah Sepang for the past 23 years. I am happy to be part of the Limkokwing Founder’s Day celebrations today.”

ASP Mohamad Zaidi, the newly-appointed Cyberjaya Police Chief, also expressed his pleasure to be able to witness the Founder’s Day commemoration.

He said he was happy “to be invited to join in the Founder’s Day celebration today to commemorate the memory of the late Tan Sri Limkokwing.”

On hand to keep the children comfortable and happy were Limkokwing students and faculty heads and staff. The orphans chatted merrily with our students who presented each one with a goodies bag and a special Limkokwing t-shirt. Later, they were ushered to the Hall of Fame where the first phase of the Founder’s Day celebration awaited them.

After the welcoming introduction, the children and other guests listened to the speeches by Limkokwing senior management.
