The High Commissioner of South Africa to Malaysia, Her Excellency Samkelisiwe Isabel Mhlanga, made her second visit to Limkokwing University on 27 September 2016.
Previously, she served as the South African ambassador to Denmark from 2010 to 2014.
Some of her distinguished achievements include being the International Council Representative of the South African Grail and a co-facilitator of inter-regional workshops on community development for the International Grail. The International Grail is a women’s movement committed to promoting spiritual search, social transformation, global solidarity, ecological sustainability and the release of women’s creative energy throughout the world.
During an interview with BFM 89.9, H.E. Samkelisiwe Isabel Mhlanga said her main duties as High Commissioner include strengthening social, political and economic ties between Malaysia and South Africa.
According to a report by The Presidency in 2013, Malaysia remains the largest investor in South Africa from the Southeast Asia region through companies such as Petronas and the Golden Hope Group.
Some of the largest South African companies also have offices in Malaysia: Denel, Nando’s Chicken, SASOL, and Sanlam.
South Africa aims to explore cooperation in public enterprises, skills development, energy, science, technology and innovation as well as defence amongst other areas.
