Limkokwing University of Creative Technology
The founder of our university is a man of many noteworthy pursuits. Called an educator, creative director, humanitarian, entrepreneur- now he stands to be the first non-Briton to ever be honored by the IOEE in Britain.
At the House of Lords in London, this October, Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing will become the first non-Briton to be conferred the International Lifetime Achievement Award by the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs (IOEE), an award previously exclusive to native Britons only. It is also the highest award that can be bestowed on a person by the IOEE, and is in recognition of our founder’s commitment to entrepreneurship that spans not just on a local or regional level, but on an international stage.
The founder, already recipient of more than 100 local and international awards, addressed the press with gratitude the announcement of the award, saying, “In my mind, business must make a direct contribution to building the community, and not just the economy. Nothing can get better if creativity and innovation do not take place,” affirming Limkokwing University’s commitment to nation building in countries like Tajikistan, Swaziland, and more.
Britain’s sole non-profit professional institute dedicated to enterprise development, the IOEE decided to confer the award to Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing based on his contribution to the fields of enterprise and entrepreneurship, according to IOEE Small Enterprise Development Initiative executive chairman Ruth Lowbridge.
