One of Malaysia’s pioneering R&D Blockchain companies, Blockchain Technology Malaysia (BTM), held an industry talk at Limkokwing University in Cyberjaya on 26 April 2018.
BTM Blockchain Consultant, Adil Harris, opened the session at the Hall of Fame by giving students an overview about Blockchain technology and the four basic elements that make up Blockchain solutions.
Adil also shared the importance of having multi-purpose functions when using Blockchain as it requires a lot of cooperation across various networks.
He also said that the way Blockchain technology is applied in the public and private sector is entirely different than what most people would expect.
“In the private sector, the system is easy and there won’t be any competition, whereas in the public sector, various organisations will need to compete with multiple networks to be given priority,” he said.
Artificial Intelligence is everywhere
BTM Data Scientist, Dr. Mahmood Al-Imam, took the stage next, giving information on the Convergence of Technologies – Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain.
Dr. Mahmood explained about Blockchain’s role and how useful it is in Artificial Intelligence.
“AI is everywhere and one certainly cannot deny they can’t live without AI,” said Dr. Mahmood.
He also said that if there’s no data, AI will die, therefore in order for it to get bigger, AI needs to be fed consistently.
In response to a student question on the guarantees of Blockchain in a company and the repercussions if something goes wrong, Adil responded: “Blockchain provides protection, security and transparency and it serves as the core technology of cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin where users of various networks share transaction data, which has the dual advantage of making transactions transparent and difficult to falsify.”
