Venezuelan embassy representatives visited Limkokwing University’s flagship campus on 29 March 2017.
The purpose of the visit was to cement bilateral ties between the University and the embassy. They also came to attend an industry talk by Erick Alcala, a Venezuelan visual artist with over 22 years experience in multimedia. Erick Alcala is currently doing his Masters in Film Production in Limkokwing.
Dato’ Fajura Juffa, Senior Vice President of Limkokwing University, officiated the welcoming of the Second Secretary Mina Perez and Deputy Head of Mission Enrique Gonzalez Kong. She shared with them Limkokwing’s history, campaigns and its aims for promoting creativity and innovation across three continents.
Enrique Gonzalez Kong said that Limkokwing University’s multicultural factor is important in cultivating students’ humility and tolerance in order for them to become responsible global citizens.
“If you know the world through different perspectives and cultures you get a broader perspective and develop a deeper human understanding which will make the world a better place to live.”
He also acknowledged that the Embassy of Venezuela and Limkokwing University has been working together for 12 years. “We have a lot of Venezuelan graduates from this University. The projects and initiatives between the embassy and the institution are going to continue,” he concluded.
Mina Perez concurred that Limkokwing University provides many platforms to facilitate projects with embassies.
“It is very fruitful to work with multicultural institutions such as Limkokwing mostly on cultural and academic activities such as concerts, fashion show, cultural festivals, workshops and industry talks such as today’s.”
