“There is nothing in the modern trending society that doesn’t involve design”

Emmanuel Osakue, is a driven and aspiring soul who set off to Malaysia from Nigeria 15 years ago with a mission to master the studies of art and design. Today, he works passionately as a full time designer at Limkokwing University.
He opened up to us about how his childhood was filled with drawings on the wall by him and told his parents his dream was to design the world one day. “I kept drawing a whole lot of characters on the wall. My parents had to always have to repaint the entire wall several times in a year, because they were covered with my drawings.”
Emmanuel chose design as his major as he believes that design is a vital in every aspect of business and lifestyle. “There is nothing in the modern trending society that design is not involved. Right from the cars you drive to the clothes you wear- design is involved.”
“Nigeria has the third highest number of movie producers. We produce for Hollywood in the U.S., Bollywood in India and Nollywood in Nigeria.”
With the skills provided to him throughout his programme at Limkokwing University, Emmanuel shared said he learned that stuntmen are no longer needed as there are softwares to give a split image.
Emmanuel is currently a lecturer at Limkokwing University. He creates modules and also conducts thorough research in order to advance his skills using the best technology to teach his students.
“A diverse community is a progressive and productive community”, says Emmanuel. He adds that he is continuously surrounded by colleagues from all around the world and that has helped him expand his mind.
