28 June 2019
Founding President of Limkokwing University Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Limkokwing urged graduates to turn the footprints they will create in the industry into groundbreaking milestones that will help shape the future of the world.
Tan Sri Limkokwing spoke at the University’s convocation ceremony held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre on 22 June 2019 where 1,100 students from 70 countries received their hard earned scrolls across various disciplines.
In reminding the graduates that they were among the world’s best he said, “In your time with us, you have won many awards and broken many records. You have contributed to charity and the enrichment of humanity. You have planted trees in support of forestry. You have given us and your parents much to be proud of.”
Tan Sri Lim also applauded them to have created a place where international peace, mutual respect and goodwill are demonstrated, and happily celebrated during their time of studies.
“Class of 2019, you have literally brought the world here. And here on this campus, you have created a place where international peace, mutual respect and goodwill are clearly demonstrated, and happily celebrated.”
“Elsewhere, they fight over their differences. Elsewhere, they clash because of their differences. Here, we celebrate our differences. Here, we come together because of our differences. Here, we design a more cohesive, more equal, more peaceful future.”
Paying a heartwarming tribute to the parents of students graduating Tan Sri Limkokwing commended them as the true heroes of the occasion and mentioned if it wasn’t for them such a celebration would not have been possible.
“Let me now take a minute to pay tribute to your parents; you may never know how much sacrifices they would have made to see you graduate today. You may never know how far they would go just to be close to you. You may never know how much it really means to them to see you graduate today. Upon your irreplaceable parents, you must never stop showering love and affection.”
Concluding his address and bidding the graduates farewell, Tan Sri Limkokwing said, “As you know, every chapter must come to an end so that a new chapter may begin. May this journey you have started with us take you to the most wonderful places in the world.”
“On that note, I bid you farewell. May I take this opportunity to wish you the very best in all that you do and to thank you for making us a part of your journey. It does not matter how far away you may go, I want you to know that we will be here applauding your every accomplishment. This will always be your home.”
