Adding to its long years of assisting Palestinians gain higher education, Limkokwing University has now offered scholarships worth RM57 million for Palestinian youths to pursue their degree studies at its Cyberjaya campus.

The scholarships cover all academic levels, including the English Programme, as well as Foundation, Diploma, Degree, Masters, and PhD levels. They will cover the entire course duration until the student graduates, reaffirming the university’s unwavering support to the nation of Palestine during these challenging times.

His Excellency Walid Abu Ali, Ambassador of the Embassy of The State of Palestine to Malaysia, emphasised the power of education in rebuilding Palestine and commended Limkokwing University for its continuous support.

YM Dato’ Raja Aznil Raja Hisham, Chairman of the University’s Board of Governors, and YBhg Dato’ Gail Phung, Senior Vice-President, received the Ambassador as he arrived with a team to tour the campus.

The Ambassador recalled the late Tan Sri Limkokwing’s many endeavours to raise public awareness of the Palestinian cause.  He recalled the campaign ‘Plight of the Palestinians, A Nation Denied A Homeland’ in 2004 and ‘Plight of the Palestinians: From Grim to Bleak’ in 2009. These initiatives raised funds for medical support in Palestine. In 2021, under its ‘Heal the World’ banner, the university raised funds to purchase medical supplies for the people of Gaza.

In recognition of his lifelong support for world peace, Tan Sri Limkokwing was conferred the Distinguished World Citizen of Peace and Humanity Award in 2009, presented by H.E. Abdelaziz Abughoush, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of the State of Palestine, Kuala Lumpur.

Limkokwing University’s ongoing efforts to foster international collaboration and support for Palestine reflect its commitment to global peace, education, and the empowerment of students worldwide.
