Limkokwing University welcomed UN Global Compact Network Malaysia President Dr. Puvan J. Selvanathan to discuss collaboration opportunities on 11 July 2017.
The Global Compact Network Malaysia is an independent legal entity under the Malaysian Registrar of Society’s Act. Its core objective is to advance corporate sustainability in Malaysia by promoting the Global Compact principles.
Dr. Puvan is a former UN Special Mandate Holder on Business and Human Rights appointed by the UN Human Rights Council (Geneva), Head of Food & Agriculture at the UN Global Compact Office (New York), and then Head (New York Office) of the International Trade Centre, a joint agency of the UN and WTO.
Before he joined the UN, he was Group Chief Sustainability Officer at Sime Darby, a Malaysian diversified conglomerate. An architect by profession, he holds an MBA and a DBA in corporate Strategy and Sustainability. He has served as a panellist for the fall 2014 Conversation in Human Rights: Business and Human Rights panel.
