Limkokwing University has opened its doors to enable cross-cultural, inter-campus learning through its Global Immersion Programme. For July, 15 students from Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore, India, began a week-long exposure to new perspectives.
The students engaged in a series of workshops covering various topics that included sessions on entrepreneurship, personal development, marketing strategies, globalisation, leadership, and change management. The programme also incorporated cutting-edge subjects such as Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things, highlighting their role in enhancing efficiency in various sectors.
A unique aspect of the Global Immersion Programme was its blend of academic learning with real-world exposure. Students had the opportunity to visit local industries, offering insights into local industry practices. These industry visits were carefully curated to complement the theoretical knowledge gained during the workshops. The workshops also featured a unique “Time with Corporate Heroes” segment, where students interacted with successful alumni and local entrepreneurs.
Creativity and cultural awareness were not overlooked, with dedicated sessions exploring these crucial aspects of global competence. Cultural excursions to Petaling Street, Central Market, and the iconic Petronas Twin Towers provided a rich tapestry of Malaysian heritage and modern development.
This Global Immersion Programme exemplifies Limkokwing University’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and preparing students for the challenges of a rapidly evolving global landscape. By combining academic rigour with practical exposure and cultural immersion, the programme provided a holistic learning experience that extended far beyond traditional classroom boundaries. This initiative stands as a testament to the power of international educational exchanges in broadening horizons and cultivating a new generation of globally-minded leaders.
