Meeting The Demand of Cambodia’s Banking Sector

Cambodia founded the National Bank and started printing the Cambodian “Riel” currency in 1954 after independence from France. From 1975 to 1979. The national banking system of Cambodia was destroyed, and most Cambodian people then had no experience or relevant skills in banking. However, after 1979, the new Government re-established the People's Bank of Cambodia. The National Bank of Cambodia had to focus on staff development to improve the level of staff knowledge and professional skills to meet the needs of modern banking.
