Limkokwing’s Indonesian student community, Merah Putih Club, has elected a new president for the 2015 – 2016 term.
Merah Putih appointed Orista Primadewa as club President on the 9th April following the annual club elections where he stood against two competitors, who are now his vice presidents.
Merah Putih is an Indonesian student community in Limkokwing that aims at bringing Indonesian students together and sharing their culture and tradition with Limkokwing’s international community.
Primadewa’s election follows his successful directing of a video advertising one of the club’s biggest annual events, Monophone, an arts and culture concert. He created a video of international students singing a song by Indonesian pop star RAN, who will be performing during the event. He designed the video to promote Monophone 2015 and to introduce Merah Putih club as a friendly community that values networks with students from all backgrounds.
“I aim to create a friend-and-family environment within and outside the Merah Putih Club, where Indonesian students can welcome both new Indonesians and non-Indonesians warmly,” he said.
He thanked his predecessor, Yusuf Auliadilaga for leading the club well, and said he had gained a lot of experience from Auliadilaga’s leadership. He went on to say he is confident in leading the club for his term because of the hands-on, holistic education he receives in Limkokwing, which promotes leadership, creativity, and innovation.
“It is not all about being in the classroom, in Limkokwing we learn in a practical way, through doing things. Being President of Merah Putih, I am learning leadership skills.”
He concluded by inviting the Limkokwing community to join them at the Monophone 2015 concert which will be held at the Hall of Fame on Saturday 18 April, to experience Indonesia culture and have an entertaining evening.
