Limkokwing University remains fully committed to enhancing its long-term delivery of world-class, practice-based tertiary education to the youth of Botswana.
The University says it has already moved past a recent Industrial Court case and is now focussed on implementing new measures to improve teaching and learning on campus.
“I assure all stakeholders – including parents, students, lecturers and the education authority – that Limkokwing University remains fully committed to continue playing a crucial role in the development of human capital in Botswana for decades to come,” said Dato’ Gail Phung, Senior Vice President of Limkokwing University.
She also confirmed that there will be no sale of execution carried out as announced in a notice published in the Botswana Gazette on 29 May 2019 in relation to Case No UR11/19.
“I can confirm that the sale of execution has been stayed by authority of a court order issued by Hon. Justice T.B. Marumo on 31 May 2019. The University management has taken all necessary measures to ensure that operations and teaching on campus will not be disrupted in any way,” said Dato’ Gail.
Limkokwing – A Dedicated Long-Term Partner of Africa
Since establishing its presence in Africa over a decade ago, Limkokwing University has invested over USD $50 million including subsidised fees and scholarships that have benefited over 20,000 students across the continent, including many with disabilities.
Through its campuses in sub-Saharan Africa, the University has developed human capital on a scale unmatched by any other foreign institution on the entire continent over the past 12 years.
2019 saw the opening of Limkokwing Uganda, and work is now underway for new campuses to be opened in Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda and South Africa before the end of 2020.
This huge plan of expansion underlines Limkokwing University’s long-term commitment in the region, and in Africa in general.
“Our commitment in Botswana remains as strong as it was on day one. Limkokwing University believes in Botswana, and believes in Africa. We are here for the long-term and we believe that the quality of human capital on this continent has the potential to match, if not surpass, those anywhere else in the world,” said Dato’ Gail.
