Limkokwing University received a United Nations Global Compact certificate during the inaugural Sustainable Development Goals industry dialogue dinner held at the Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 22 January 2019.
The certificate was awarded to the University as a token of appreciation for bringing Enabler Human Rights in Malaysia. Limkokwing’s Creative Content Producer, Shiva Kafil received the recognition on behalf of the University.
Present at the dialogue was the Minister of Entrepreneur Development Datuk Seri Mohd. Redzuan Yusof, Deputy Ambassador United Nations Malaysia Mr. Asfaazam Kasbani, Member of Selangor and Kelantan Royalty Y.M. Tengku Dato’ Dr. Hishamuddin Zaizi Y.A.M Tengku Azman Shah Alhaj and the Secretary General Ministry of Entrepreneur Development Mrs. Wan Suraya Wan Mohd. Radzi, to mention a few.
The dialogue covered a number of factors that shape the sustainable ecosystem, including policy, the role of the private sectors, and how to develop policies that ensure no one is left behind in accordance to the theme of Sustainable Development Goals.
During the event, Global Compact launched two programmes, Climate Change Enabler and Human Rights Enabler.
In his speech, Datuk Seri Mohd. Redzuan, said, “We will ensure that new policies will regulate and make changes for a better human rights, income stability and contribute to the better environment as other develop countries and to live in a sustained growth toward vision 2020.”
