Limkokwing donates wheelchairs to the Ministry of Social Development

Limkokwing University Lesotho changed the lives of vulnerable Basotho by donating twenty wheelchairs to the Ministry of Social Development at Ithuseng Vocational Rehabilitation Centre on 8 October 2020.
In attendance were the Minister of Social Development Hon. ’Matebatso Doti, Deputy Principal Secretary of Social Development Mrs. Mahlapane Makakole-Boliba, Ministry of Social Development delegates, The Limkokwing Senior Management and the media fraternity.
In his handover remarks, Registrar Moroka Hoohlo acknowledged that the donation was curated under The Heal the World Foundation which is an initiative founded in 2009 by the Limkokwing Founder President, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Limkokwing.
“As a university, it is our mission to assist the Government of Lesotho with improving its human capital and achieving its Sustainable Development Goals especially in education and enriching the lives of Basotho. We have therefore collaborated with the Ministry of Social Development to donate twenty wheelchairs to the less vulnerable community of Lesotho. These wheelchairs are meant to improve the livelihood of their beneficiaries to move in and around their surroundings.” said Hoohlo.
Commending Heal the World Foundation, Honourable, ‘Matebatso Doti, gave a vote of thanks to Limkokwing and also mentioned that the ministry has been in dire need of facilities such as wheelchairs.
“I am eternally grateful for the amazing gesture made by Limkokwing University. 2020 has been a very challenging year to Lesotho and the world at large especially in efforts to fight and prevent the corona virus pandemic. The ministry has been in dire need of wheelchairs and therefore approached the University for a helping hand as part of the university’s corporate social responsibility.”
“It is a delight to me and the Ministry of Social Development to receive this donation for it is going to make our work a bit more bearable. It will further assist us in transporting our patients from point A to B in our various care facilities.” Said Hon. Doti
