Evaristo Kavikairiua Zemburuka from Namibia

27 June 2016

Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Professional Communication’s Evaristo Kavikairiua Zemburuka tells how the practical experience he got at Limkokwing University perfected him for the career of his dreams.

Before enrolling at Limkokwing University, Evaristo worked at the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation Radio in Windhoek for 4 years. He was working as a news producer and on air talent.

“I always dreamt of being part of a major news organisation. Having that opportunity straight out of high school is something I never thought could happen.

The time came when I had to apply for a University; one day I saw an advertisement for Limkokwing University and it had the programmes that appealed to my interest, so I did further research on its website which was very informative and enrolled.”

The catalyst to broadcasting careers

“Since joining Limkokwing University in 2013 and I’m proud to say that was the best decision I have ever made. The programme I enrolled under was a great way to sharpen my skills in broadcasting.
Having the opportunity to take part in major workshops and industry talks gave me insights on how the industry is evolving. An added useful advantage of my studies here at Limkokwing is the energetic unique environment.”

Connecting with the audience

“Communications by nature attracts some of the most exciting and interesting people, you find all of these people in Limkokwing, mingling and working in tandem with them is something that forges friendships and memories that are valuable as the skills you develop.”

Confident & Market Ready

“Limkokwing University gave me room to grow in many areas. The projects I took part in are directly in line with the kind of work I want to do.

I was a Master of Ceremonies at the 52nd Africa Day held at Kuala Lumpur in 2015 and also organised the Namibia Independence Day celebration held at Limkokwing University Hall of Fame. From 2013-2014 I took part in the Limkokwing Debate Club and also in the annual Limkokwing University cultural festival.

All these projects gave me the practical skills theory can’t teach. Everything taught at Limkokwing University runs parallel with industry standards so nothing will come as a shock when I start working.”
