Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Information Technology

A broad-based programme of IT studies, which aims to acquaint students with a wide range of problems that arise in computing & information technology, together with various methods & technologies available as solutions.
  • Programming skills: High-level languages — C++ & JAVA
  • Multimedia: Awareness of multimedia use in computer programming
  • Theoretical & technical knowledge: Importance of data and telecommunications to information systems, the emergence of the Internet, and the principles of underlying operating systems and their continued development
  • Individual development: Acquiring analytical and numerical skills for computer programming, presentation and PR skills for various working environments

Programme Structure

Entry Requirements

Either one of these :

  • Passed in STPM/A-Level with a minimum grade of C (CGPA 2.00) in any TWO (2) subjects or any equivalent qualification and a credit in Mathematics or Add Math at SPM/O-Level or its equivalent OR
  • Passed UEC with a minimum of grade B in 5 subjects (including Mathematics or Add Math) OR

  • Passed in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid in any TWO (2) subjects (including a credit in Mathematics or Add Math at SPM/SPMV level or its equivalent or its equivalent) OR

  • Passed in Matriculation or Foundation Studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a credit in Mathematics or Add Math at SPM/O-Level or its equivalent OR

  • Diploma in Computing fields (Level 4, MQF) or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50. Candidate with a CGPA below 2.50 but more than 2.00 may be admitted subject to a thorough assessment OR

  • Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in Non-Computing with minimum CGPA of 2.75. Candidate with a CGPA below 2.75 but more than 2.50 may be admitted subject to a thorough assessment OR

  • Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM)/Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) in Computing fields with minimum CGPA of 2.50 is subjected to HEP Senate/Academic Boards’s approval OR

  • Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) in Computing fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 subjected to HEP Senate/Academic Board’s approval OR

  • Other relevant and equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government. (Candidates can be admitted if their admission qualification contains Mathematics subject(s) equivalent to Mathematic in SPM. If it is not equivalent, the reinforcement Mathematics subject equivalent to SPM level must be offered in first semester of before enrolment with unconditional offer)

Note:

  • Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level need to take and pass the reinforcement Mathematics subject that is equivalent to the SPM Level. The reinforcement Mathematics subject must be offered in the first semester or before enrolment with unconditional offer
  • Students are required to pass the reinforcement Mathematics before being allowed to take related core courses. The Candidate can sit for any subjects that did not indicate Mathematics as a prerequisite.
  • Reinforcement Mathematics can contribute to the overall graduating credit.
  • Students from Matriculation/Foundation or its equivalent can be exempted from taking reinforcement Mathematics.
