OPEN DAY: Students share their enthusiasm to take up creative courses at Limkokwing
19 July 2022
When it comes to Open days, no other campus does it more exuberantly than Limkokwing University of Creative Technology.
This was the general opinion of the scores of would-be Limkokwing University students who descended on the Cyberjaya campus with their teachers during the OPEN DAY from 29th June to 2nd July.
The sprawling campus was converted into a hyperbole of activities with video games, exhibitions featuring the creative work of Limkokwing students and graduates, well-participated basketball games, food stalls and fun contests that kept everyone on their toes.
The excited chirpy mood of the students further accentuated the atmosphere, especially when the Hitz FM crew went around interviewing the young visitors who were only too keen to share their excitement about studying at Limkokwing University after completing their secondary education.
SMK Sungai Pelek student Nur Qistina Wafiy Bte Mohd Ridzuan said her heart is set on taking up a degree course in Fashion Design after finishing her SPM. “I have always dreamt of the glitzy glamour of catwalks with dazzling spotlights shining on me.”
She described her campus visit as “memorable” and cannot wait to start her tertiary adventure at Limkokwing.
Her schoolmate Siti Nur Hadhirah Hasya considers herself “lucky to be here” as it has triggered her mindset to pursue a Business Management course. Her passion is to be a successful entrepreneur one day.
Paidatalli A/P Subramaniam, teacher and student counsellor from SMK Putrajaya Presint 5 (1), recounted her rewarding moment as an educator. She opines that “the education sector needs to be reevaluated and provide training to teachers from time to time to upscale the quality of education in the country.”
She added that “Limkokwing University has prepared knowledgeable graduates embedded with soft and hard skills that translate into a workforce that will benefit our economy.”
Another teacher Nirmala Devi Saminthu of SMK Sungai Pelek, Cyberjaya said education is the key to growth: “If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.”
Later, the teachers, students and other school leavers were taken on a guided tour of the university by Marketing VicePresident Jeremy Roger and his team.
He also briefed them about several scholarship facilities provided by Limkokwing University, especially for B40 students keen to pursue tertiary education here after their SPM / STPM studies.
