Maria Wolfe Hernandez-Ros is an avid sports fan who enjoys soccer and basketball. She also loves to experience different cultures and is currently studying Foundation in Design with plans to pursue a Degree in Animation.
Choosing Limkokwing University
She picked Limkokwing University for its multicultural exposure and the opportunity to learn more about the world.
“I heard that the University is known for its internationally diverse culture and this gives me the chance to meet people from other countries.”
She added that the University offers her the chance to establish a global network with students from other countries. This enables her to connect with people from different countries while pursuing her studies.
According to her, the University staff were very helpful in providing her with tremendous support to help her begin her studies in Malaysia.
“Students can pursue the course they wanted while the University provides all the assistance they need,” she said.
Coming to Malaysia
“Malaysia is more relaxing,” she said “Back home, we have to do everything fast.”
Her experience as a Limkokwing student gives her the opportunity to learn more about the local culture and languages.
“I was able to make new friends here in Malaysia,” she added. “I made friends from different races such as Malays, Chinese and Indian people.
During her time at Limkokwing University, she learned to develop her communication skills through interacting with foreign students.
Love of sports
“I love sports especially basketball and soccer,” she said. “My favourite team has always been Barcelona.”
“I joined a few sports teams at the University but I hope to start a team specifically for girls,” she added.
She wanted to attract other students at Limkokwing University to take sports to promote a healthy and positive lifestyle.
For Maria, sports has always been a passion for her and she hopes to be able to create awareness in sports at Limkokwing University.
She hopes to be play a greater influence other sports enthusiast into the university while still studying. These include other games such as tennis, basketball and soccer.
For her, this would promote a healthy lifestyle and competitive spirit for students when they graduate.
