A total of 64 Korean students from Korea Tourism College, Kaywon School of Arts & Design and Dong Kang College received their certificates from Limkokwing University after completing a 4-week comprehensive Summer Camp on July 24th.

The programme was designed to teach basic English skills and promote cross-cultural interaction to encourage the students’ personal development and cultural tolerance.

Students were brought to iconic places in Malaysia like Bukit Bintang, Batu Caves and Malacca to give them an insight into the rich Malaysian culture. This experience allowed the students to build their cultural understanding, as they hail from a mono-cultured society where such opportunities are hardly possible.

Kim Nam Hui from Dong Kang College felt that coming to Limkokwing University is one-of-a-kind experience because it’s different from the universities in his country.

“There are so many different cultures to observe and learn from. I had made friends from around the world during my stay here at this beautiful country,” he added.

Many of the Korean students faced difficulties adapting to the various cultural differences they faced in Malaysia.

“When I first came to Malaysia, everything surprised me. The food, people, culture and especially the weather,” exclaimed Jeong Eun Seon from Kaywon School of Arts & Design.

However, she learned to adapt herself to the Malaysian environment and improve her English skills throughout her stay in Malaysia. She thanked her teacher for helping her cope with the language barrier and cultural differences.
