The President of Hong Kong-Malaysia Business Association (HKMBA), Dixon Chew Chuon Jin, visited Limkokwing University Cyberjaya on 3 April 2019.

The visit was aimed at discussing new opportunities and co-operation in specialised projects regarding branding, packaging and innovative with Limkokwing University in efforts for HKMBA to go global.

HKMBA’s Vice President Datuk Henry Yip Choong Hung, Treasurer Mr. Suresh Kumar J. Gorasia, Committee Member Dr. Loh Kai Kwong and other HKMBA’s senior management were also present.

Highlighting that it was not the first time HKMBA visited the University, Limkokwing’s Senior Vice-President for Corporate Development Dato’ Gail Phung expressed that collaboration between the two parties would be beneficial for both parties.

Dixon Chew said HKMBA is looking to go global in terms of branding, packaging and innovation.

“Malaysia and Hong Kong have enjoyed a dynamic economic and social relationship for many years. I think this is the right time for Malaysian talented SMEs to go global because we are exposed to so many companies and agencies, and all of them provide very good quality

“Limkokwing University is the right partner to collaborate with. They are champions in branding, packaging, innovation, and transformation. We would be pleased to sign MoU with this University,” he said.

Datuk Henry Yip added that although there are so many things that can be highlighted, he believes working with Limkokwing University is a great opportunity.

“Tan Sri Limkokwing and Limkokwing University are Malaysian assets. This University started so well and grew faster than my expectations and now they already are leaders in what they are doing.”

Suresh Kumar expressed that he was impressed with Limkokwing’s flagship campus.

“Honestly, Limkokwing is the creator of innovation and see what this University has achieved today. The environment is very vibrant.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Loh Kai said finding the right partner was not easy, but at Limkokwing it just like a one stop centre for branding, packaging and innovation.

HKMBA was established in May 2014, with the assistance of the statutory body of HK Trade Development Council (HKTDC). The HKMBA has been set up as an official bilateral trade association in Malaysia to oversee business ventures between both Malaysia and the region.

HKMBA is set up to promote and facilitate successful networking between businessmen and companies established in Malaysia and Hong Kong, widen business opportunities and exchange of ideas and experiences through contact with fellow members and non-members, and provide services and organise events that will facilitate the foregoing objectives including but not limited to trade enquiry services, information on trade, joint ventures and collaboration as well as assistance in business matching opportunities.
