Limkokwing University receives recognition for supporting Safer Internet Day 2019

Limkokwing University received an award of appreciation for lending support to this year’s Safer Internet Day during the official closing ceremony at Putrajaya on 7 March 2019.
The event was a collaborative effort between Cybersecurity Malaysia and Ministry of Communications and Multimedia. Limkokwing’s Senior Vice-President, YM Dato’ Raja Aznil Raja Hisham received the award on behalf of the University.
Notable guests at the ceremony were the Minister of Communications and Multimedia, YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo; Cybersecurity Malaysia Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, and former Chairman Board of Directors, General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Panglima Mohd Azumi Bin Mohamed.
Through the “Youth Cyber Wellness in the Digital Era” seminar, positive management of digital presence characteristics in both, mental and physical health aspects were addressed.
The seminar also aimed to create awareness and educate youth on being responsible, protected and respectful while navigating the cyber world.
“On behalf of Cybersecurity Malaysia, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all strategic partners for contributing in the promotional aspect of this campaign through posters and videos which has been truly beneficial,” said General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Panglima Mohd Azumi Bin Mohamed during his speech.
YB Gobind Singh Deo also extended his special thanks and appreciation to Limkokwing University; National Council of Women’s Organisation Malaysia (NCWO); Tech Capacity Sdn. Bhd and Internet Society Malaysian Chapter (ISOC) for their tremendous support and valuable contribution towards making the event a success.
