The bazaar was the hottest spot in Limkokwing University with lots of booths to visit for the Deepavali shopping with clothes, jewellery, accessories, food, cookies and things related for the festival of lights.

The diverse international student body at Limkokwing University were also entertained with Indian songs, dances, yoga and a fashion show by the members of the YUVA club.

“The concept of the Diwali Bazaar’s decoration was based on the true Indian culture. It was rows of oil lamps, rangoli (floor art made of coloured rice) and the God Ganesha’s statue being the main attraction for everyone. The performances started with Mayilattam (Peacock dance) to celebrate the arrival of festive season,” said YUVA Vice President, Paavigness Rao.

Vigness added, “Our aim is to promote Indian culture through the events organized. We hoped that everyone had experienced the varieties of the Indian culture.”

Our first event for this year, the Diwali Bazaar was planned in conjunction with Deepavali and our upcoming projects will be related to sports, followed by a charity effort. For next year, we will be coming up with more exciting events such as students’ award ceremony and other extracurricular activities.”

Kuben added, “We hope the YUVA club will be a trend among other universities to position the Limkokwing University brand as a top Malaysian multicultural university among international students.”
