75 students from Cyberjaya arrived in London on 23 April to spend one month under the Global Classroom programme.

The first day started with a welcome and briefing by Limkokwing London’s Global Classroom team on general safety rules and regulations, first aid emergency measures and general policies and procedures of the campus.

The students were then briefed on the research tours, industry visits and academic talks that have been organised for them throughout the month.

Limkokwing London’s Associate Director for International Campus Management, TB Karki said the students can look forward to the best experience London has to offer.

Limkoking London’s Academic Coordinator, Mehrdad Borna, highlighted a few industry visits that drew excitement from the students, including BBC, Jaguar, Manchester United, Adidas, Reebok, Cadbury and Warner Bros.

He went on to explain the attraction of London as an educational hub: “It is one of the best cities in the world to gain knowledge and experiences in many different areas, including architecture, design, technology, communication and fashion. You should take advantage of this priceless opportunity and learn as much as you can during this one month.”

A new activity has been introduced into the latest London Global Classroom programme called ‘Speakers’ Corner’ similar to the one in London’s Hyde Park.

The ‘Speakers’ Corner’ is an open-air space for public speaking, debates and discussions.

Mehrdad said the purpose of this activity is to help build the students’ confidence, so they may engage others with their opinions and convince people with their ideas.

After lunch, Limkokwing London’s Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Cedric Bell addressed the students with words of advice, telling them to use this unique opportunity to learn as much as they can while in London.

He also implored the students to observe and understand the culture and lifestyle in the United Kingdom.

He concluded his address by saying that the students chose a good time to be in London with the beautiful weather and encouraged the students to be adventurous and try new things that they can only find in the UK, such as sampling the food in Shepherd’s Market, watching the changing of the royal guard at Buckingham Palace, experiencing the atmosphere of a football game and a theatre show or music concert.
