2 July 2013

Global Classroom students in London visited leading car manufacturers, Land Rover and Jaguar at their manufacturing plants in Warwickshire and Birmingham respectively on the 8 May.

Global Classroom students observing a chocolate-making process at Cadbury World.

They were shown how the cars are made, and the roles that technology and advanced robotics play in creating every car. They also saw the amount of care and attention put into research and design. Each step of the process plays a vital role towards completing each car that leaves the facilities.

On their tour around the manufacturing plants, the students saw firsthand the craftsmanship and expertise that goes into all aspects of manufacturing.

Afterwards, the students headed to Cadbury World in nearby Bournville.

Cadbury World is a tourist attraction site founded by Cadbury Chocolate Company in August 1990. The students were given a talk by the Cadbury team on the chocolate company’s history and the foundation that saw them rise to become one of the world’s largest confectionary manufacturers.

The students took part in chocolate tasting and observed how chocolate is made from start to finish by a team of chocolate makers.
